My handmade guitars are in the gypsy jazz style. I am interested in the acoustic instruments from the jazz swing era of the 1930s through to the early 1950s. especially Maccaferri and Di Mauro style guitars "Guitars Manouche" Gypsy jazz guitars, are very specialised acoustic instruments made famous by Django Reinhardt, these guitars were designed to cut through loud ensembles, initially pre amplification instruments. they feature arched tops, floating bridges, with a loud, percussive attack.
